Dr. Emmanuel Schenkman completed his medical education at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University. He completed both his internship and residency in General Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and is certified by the American Board of Urology. With more than 30 years of experience in the medical field, Dr. Schenkman brings extensive clinical knowledge, surgical expertise, and a strong commitment to high-quality patient care.
Dr. Schenkman practices all aspects of adult general urology with special clinical interests in kidney stone disease, prostate conditions including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urologic cancers, erectile dysfunction, vasectomy, and female urology. He also evaluates and treats a wide range of urinary conditions, including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, urinary tract infections, hematuria, urinary retention, and other complex genitourinary concerns. His approach combines careful evaluation, up-to-date treatment strategies, and individualized care designed around each patient’s symptoms, goals, and overall health.
Known for his technical skill and compassionate bedside manner, Dr. Schenkman has earned a strong reputation among both patients and colleagues. He believes in building trust through clear communication, thoughtful listening, and a respectful, patient-centered approach. His clinical focus includes both medical and procedural treatment, allowing him to manage routine urologic concerns as well as more complex conditions requiring long-term follow-up or surgical intervention.
Dr. Schenkman also offers telehealth appointments, giving patients added flexibility and convenient access to expert urologic care when appropriate.
